    Job Description

    The Head of Finance is overseeing the financial management of the ISO Central Secretariat (ISO/CS), leading the financial strategy, planning and operations. As a membership organization of national standards bodies, the role goes beyond traditional accounting and requires a strategic mindset, sophisticated financial planning, and the ability to drive value creation across our organization. Reporting directly to the Deputy Secretary General, the Head of Finance manages the finance team and is a key leader across business units and functions, playing a pivotal role in shaping our future success.

  • Liaise with the leadership of ISO/CS, heads of departments and various ISO Governance officers and committees, to develop and execute financial strategies that support organizational goals and in compliance with ISO policies.
  • Propose short- and medium-term financial strategies to ensure execution of major investments and the excellent operations of the organization.
  • Ensure transparent and regular financial reporting to key internal stakeholders and ISO Governance.
  • Prepare and deliver financial presentations to the leadership of ISO/CS and ISO Governance
  • Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Prepare quarterly report for ISO Governance bodies, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Supervise and coordinate of the annual audit of financial statements with external auditors.
  • Acts as a business partner for the heads of departments in financial matters
  • Oversee treasury management, optimizing liquidity and returns, as well as minimizing risk.
  • Provide leadership, direction and support to the Finance team composed of 2 members. The Successful Applicant
  • At least 10 years of international experience in finance or relevant areas.
  • University education or equivalent background, preferably with a relevant master's degree.
  • Strong knowledge of Swiss accounting regulations.
  • English and french fluent, any other language is a plus
  • Experience managing the financial operations of an international organization would be an advantage.
  • Experience with advanced financial management and information system would be an asset.
  • Proficient in the use of new technologies and interest and ability to embrace digital evolution.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with relationship building at a senior level and with various stakeholders.
