    Founded in 1893 with the Tages-Anzeiger, the media company Tamedia encompasses the strongest editorial network in Switzerland and employs over 1800 people in German-speaking Switzerland and Romandy. Tamedia's leading daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, and news platforms are locally rooted and internationally connected, providing transparency and offering entertainment as well as guidance. In addition, Tamedia operates the three largest newspaper printing plants in Switzerland. Tamedia is a subsidiary of the TX Group.

    Technical Lead Front-End (f/m/d)

    Technology is in your DNA - you dream in code. You are curious, fullstack-competent, and like to play in different technical areas. You have a special interest in frontend. Perhaps you have never focused on being a "leader", but have noticed that others seek out your opinion and help. Experienced engineers come to you when they want someone to look at their technical designs or code.

    What you can expect:

    • Leading a team of Frontend, Backend, and native mobile developers that are dedicated to building our digital news platforms.
    • Coaching and guiding your team members along their personal growth journeys.
    • Collaborating closely with the Product Owner and adjacent teams on new initiatives.
    • Identifying areas of improvement in the tech stack.
    • Proposing refactorings (or doing them yourself), and advocating for architectural changes before they become liabilities.

    We are looking for:

    • A drive for engineering excellence, and hands-on experience with React, and TypeScript.
    • Good understanding of the Full-stack: from the browser and CSS on one end, to REST APIs and databases on the other.
    • A desire to share your expertise and mentor other team members.
    • An ability to engage with business stakeholders, designers, and software engineers from other teams to jointly craft the best solutions possible, with a "getting things done" attitude.
    • Fluency in English; a decent understanding of German is a big plus. French language skills could also be helpful but are not required.
