FCF Performance Director

Position purpose:


The FCF Performance Director, together with the FCF Lead Director, supports the Global Financial Performance Team in managing global performance of FCF and to achieve Global Tobacco (GT) FCF and Cash Conversion ("CCR") targets.

The role will be responsible for delivery of timely and accurate reporting and analysis of actual as well as plan GT FCF performance results to JTI and JT management in order to provide recommendations and support decision making, ensuring the delivery of GT targets.

The role will also drive global sustainable improvement in FCF and CCR as well as build up awareness and capabilities of FCF across the Group.

To achieve this, the incumbent will need to ensure strong communication with the regions, functions and the wider finance community.


What will you do - responsibilities:
Support the Global Financial Performance team to ensure the achievement of FCF and CCR KPI targets:

  • Understand and manage variances to plan with entities, regions and functions
  • Provide recommendations for FCF and CCR target delivery in response to variances to plan
Ensure accurate planning and analysis of the Global Tobacco FCF in order to ensure accurate target setting and tracking:

  • Ensure efficient and effective processes are in place for all planning cycles for FCF (A&SP, LE, OL), while aligning the planning timetable with Corporate stakeholders (OCC team, Corporate Accounting and Tax, Treasury) to ensure timely delivery of plans/LEs/OLs for management review
  • Ensure a solid understanding and analysis of the FCF plans/LEs/OLs in order to provide effective information and recommendation for senior management decisionmaking
Ensure accurate monthly reporting and analysis of the JTI Group FCF actual performance:

  • Understand and provide supporting analysis of business performance and variances against set targets, identify areas of opportunity and risk in the context of full year FCF and CCR targets delivery
  • Ensure effective and efficient sharing of monthly actual FCF performance reports and analysis with relevant stakeholders
Build up awareness of and capabilities for FCF globally:

  • Work with JTI communications team or external agencies as required to continue to buld up awareness of FCF in the Group, across both Finance and non-Finance communities. This includes communications via WorkPlace, the FCF Hub and/or other channels.
  • Maintain strong communications and relationships with Regions, Functions and the wider Finance community, which would include workshops and presentations at Regional Finance and/or other conferences

People Development and Leadership:

  • Support the FCF Lead Director to develop a strong team including succession planning facilitating a talent pool for potential finance leaders. This includes working in a AGILE manner with fellow team mates, ensuring objectives, roles and responsibilities are clarified, sharing knowledge and coaching team members in areas of expertise.

Key projects management and delivery:

  • Drive continuous improvements in processes and tools for planning and actuals reporting analysis, including working closely with Regions and HQ functions to minimize duplication and enable further simplifications.
  • Support the team in ongoing projects and adhoc projects as and when they develop.

Who are we looking for - requirements:

  • University education in Finance/Economics required. Finance qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CMA, CPA, CA) is a plus.
  • 5+ years relevant experience in financial/management reporting, preferably in large multinational business, with a good knowledge and understanding of the tobacco industry.
  • Experience in managing FCF and significant exposure to senior management is a plus.
  • Advanced computer skills. Strong SAP/BW, Excel and PowerPoint skills with knowledge of Thinkcell a plus.
  • Able to work within a team and energize the team members, work crossfunctionally and interface with various levels of management.
  • Fluent in English.
