Investment Accountant

On behalf of a glbal Financial Services business, we are looking for an experienced Accountant who has worked within an Investment Bank or Insurance company for a 6 month contract for a client in Zurich.

Responsibilities:

Recording transactions, posting and balancing of Asset classes securities, money/currency/derivative trading and alternative investments
Shared responsibility for the monthly financial statements in these asset classes according to the accounting IFRS, Swiss GAAP and Liechtenstein GAAP including provision of auditable documents
Supporting the team during peak times such as monthly and quarterly financial statements
Looking after timecritical tasks.
Support for current projects of the investment team.

Profile

Minimum of 3 years of experience in investment accounting for an Insurance company or an Investment bank
Good knowledge of accounting according to Swiss GAAP/IFRS 9 for securities, money/foreign exchange/derivatives and alternative investments.
Familiar with SAP TRM / SAP BW or similar accounting and reporting systems.
Quick comprehension, used to dealing with stressful situations.
Technical college/ degree in business administration, ideally banking/finance and/or higher professional education in finance and accounting with federal certificate
A high degree of selfmanagement and a structured way of working
Team player, can get involved very quickly in a new team.
Very good knowledge of German and English. Other languages are an advantage.
