Description
The high-level objectives of the assignment are the following:
- Leverage experience and knowledge of Intellectual Property and Registry based services to propose, model and support the implementation of improved operational and data processing procedures utilizing modern IT tools, namely Camunda and supporting analytical tools.
- In cooperation with WIPO legal experts, ensure legal compliance of proposed policy and procedure modifications.
- Detail and measure effectiveness of improvements to operational and data processing procedures and existing and proposed user facing services.
a) Provide expert-level consulting services to optimize and improve the intellectual property register and associated data, tools and processes.
b) Specify and implement optimized processes using the Camunda workflow system.
c) Measure, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of the proposed changes to IP register data structures and associated data processes to identify areas for further optimization and improvement.
d) Participate in the design, specification and testing of planned and proposed improvements to IT systems and processes, including internal tooling and external facing web systems.
e) Establish clear and comprehensive documentation for proposed changes to the intellectual property register data structures and processes.
f) Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all proposed changes align with the organization's goals and objectives, as well as the requirements established by relevant international treaties.
Profile (e.g. area of specialization/expertise, specific knowledge/skills/experience)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as information systems or international law
- A minimum of 3 years experience in intellectual property or related areas.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a process or data analysis role
- Experience working with Camunda or similar workflow systems.
- Understanding of enterprise relational databases, data structures and data transformation.
- A deep understanding of intellectual property practices and regulations.
- Technical expertise in data and process management, workflow systems, and process optimization.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent knowledge of English and good knowledge of at least one of the other UN languages.
