    Your tasks



    Making the canton more secure: As a cyber security analyst in our SOC, you will monitor and analyze the entire IT/OT infrastructure of the canton of Basel-Stadt. In the event of security events, you initiate measures to protect the infrastructure from attackers.

    Respond to security incidents: In close cooperation with our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), as a member of the SOC team, you will take over the further processing of incidents based on playbooks and processes in the cantonal administration.

    Proactive detective work: In addition to automated monitoring, you use your instinct and knowledge to look for suspicious activities and anomalies, get to the bottom of them and use targeted measures to prevent any cyber attacks.

    Stay up to date: You follow developments in the threat landscape, analyze security news feeds, are in close contact with our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) and thus keep the organization up to date.

    Help shape further development: Contribute your ideas, suggestions for improvement and participation in the definition and further development of SOPs, playbooks and use cases and optimize additional tools, processes and automation solutions.

    Experience: Several years of experience in SOC operations as well as incident, detection and response management processes (level senior). You are familiar with using security and monitoring solutions. Script & automation knowledge is an advantage.

    Personality: You are a team player with an independent and reliable way of working. You have a strong sense of responsibility and work in a structured and discreet manner. Your analytical and conceptual skills are very developed.

    Education: You have completed a degree in cyber security, (business) information technology or basic IT training and have several years of professional experience. With additional training in the context of cybersecurity, you can keep your knowledge up to date.

    Language: You communicate in German in a factual, business-fluent manner and in an appropriate manner. You also have basic English skills. You are familiar with the technical terminology in the areas of cyber security and information security.

    IT BS is the internal IT service provider for the canton of Basel-Stadt and belongs to the finance department. The department provides the collaboration and communication infrastructure for mobile and stationary IT workstations and the associated support. In addition, IT BS is also continually developing various offerings for the public in the areas of eGovernment and digitalization. Functioning IT is central to the efficient operation of the cantonal administration.
    Cyber ​​security is teamwork. You are an important and competent member of the SOC team with rotating, operational responsibilities. This also includes a periodic on-call service. You also have an interest in new technologies as well as the willingness to familiarize yourself with other security topics and acquire the necessary specialist knowledge.
