Purpose of the role


You will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful scaling of our organization by delivering our products to a growing user base of 70+ million people.


What you will do

  • Developing and driving longterm strategy for our production and development infrastructure engineering, architecture, and operations, delivering high performance, security, reliability, and usability.
  • Ensuring that production services critical to our systems are designed, deployed, and maintained with security and reliability at the forefront.
  • Ensuring a robust Disaster Recovery strategy for critical systems and infrastructure.
  • Assessing and developing optimal levels of automation, standardization, and monitoring, so that the performance of our systems is maximized and enabling an SLA uptime of 99.9%.
  • Leading, growing, developing, and operating a highperforming global infrastructure organization that comprises Systems & Reliability, Applications, Network, Databases, Hardware and Datacenters, DevOps, and IT support teams.
  • Fostering a strong culture of operational health, standard methodologies, detail orientation, and innovation. Ensure skills are regularly updated to leverage technologies and methodologies that can deliver a competitive advantage to the business.
  • Partnering with senior leadership to plan and execute a multiyear plan to establish and maintain a services infrastructure that can support Proton's strategy and its fastpaced growth, while operating at a high level of efficiency.
  • Managing budgets for our IT architecture, with a solid sense of balance for efficiency and focus.
  • Liaising with top management throughout the organization to ensure the alignment and prioritization of resources in line with business priorities.

Job requirements

  • Previous experience of administering Linux systems at a large scale and with highly available infrastructure.
  • Sound customer service and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and inspire crossfunctional interdisciplinary teams.
  • Startup mindset (pragmatic, adaptive, energetic, and efficient). You must lead from the front, be handson, and have a strong work ethic. You should also have a bias towards action, execution, and making continuous improvements.
  • Business acumen, experience in building business cases, budgets, ROI, and other financial analysis as needed.
  • Deliver costeffective services to the Business Units.
  • Extensive project and change management skills, combined with experience in crisis management.
  • Experience in engaging with and influencing senior leaders and board members.
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
