    The Position

    Orchestration and Exception Management (O&EM) is a new and fundamental capability for Technical Operations (PT) in order to deliver a future portfolio of Cell & Gene Therapy products. This portfolio of new products comes with the great promise to bring unprecedented medical advances to patients but also presents unique challenges: living products cells) need to be delivered to patients in highly individualized supply chain models, which meet fast turn-around-times at a zero-error quality level. Orchestration and Exceptions Management is one of three end-to-end value chain groups, responsible for the "virtual treatment journey" (data, transactions and documents). It is complementary to supply chain management that focuses on the "physical journey" (materials, specimens, product) and patient operations, responsible for the "patient journey".

    The O&EM Operations Functional Expert will support O&EM Operational activities which include day to day orders, supply and distribution processes by ensuring timely execution of business transactions, reliable system functionalities and compliant processing standards across the end-to-end value chain for the Cell & Gene Therapy. Responsibility to monitor the process, perform business transactions and provide issue resolution as well as support for system and/or interface related topics for the Cell & Gene Therapy Orchestration Platform along with SAP ERP. Moreover, you work closely with the broader PTC organization to document applicable operating standards, share best practice knowledge and provide training to employees on relevant procedures as well as contribute to the ERP transformation ASPIRE* (project work) for FHLR (short for F. Hoffmann - La Roche) which will deploy ASPIRE's digital backbone for the locations Basel & Kaiseraugst.

    *ASPIRE is an enterprise-wide business transformation program that will harmonise all core end-to-end processes across the Roche enterprise and enable their execution from one standardized IT system template.

    In this role you will

  • Participate in ad hoc F2F Workstream Workshops organized by the ASPIRE Core Workstream, Analyzing process and design impact & identify roadblocks & long lead items for Aspire
  • Change management activities such as Impact Assessment, Long Lead time items identification, Transition & Stakeholder management, Trainings & SOP's
  • Review processes and user requirements for O&EM Operations
  • Gather information for and perform specific business transactions sales order, purchase order) to ensure smooth order execution while monitoring and facilitating end-to-end value chain operations to identify potential transactional value chain issues.
  • Provide business support on system/interface related issues in daily operations along with performing daily operations and follow-up on corrective or preventive actions.
  • Analyze performance and drive holistic solutions by understanding processes and tools
  • Operational excellence: Be responsible for smooth, compliant, and timely transactional execution of the virtual treatment journey (data, transactions, documents) for Flow of Funds, Flow of Goods, and Flow of Documents, of complex individualized and personalized CGTs.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain a proactive and close communication with various stakeholders (other PT functions) Global deployment teams & local functional business units.

    • Who You Are

    You bring prior business experience (3+ years) in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and/or consumer goods industries as well as in-depth knowledge of SAP systems ERP, and EDI interfaces, and are willing & curious to learn & deeply grasp new platforms (CGT Platform). In addition, you have a comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain processes incl. customer Service & Order Management. Further, you bring:

  • Project management experience in a cross-functional project, experience in CGT operations (commercial & clinical), as well as understanding of ERP Implementation methodology.
  • Ability to flex and navigate a complex, broad & diverse organization
  • Able to lead without direct authority, superior problem solving skills, strong time & self management skills, outstanding facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Hands-on, solution oriented way of working with the ability to perform in an uncertain, ever changing business environment, with new innovative IT solutions, in a new organization, running a new business model for operations.
  • Proven track record of translating complex problems into innovative solutions and transforming organizational mindset and capability to capture value through optimizing the patient experience.
