The Role
This role in the Manufacturing Science and Technology (MST) department will support Moderna's International Drug Product manufacturing supply network.

Based in Basel, this role will be to lead the international drug product MST function to support technology transfer, validation, continued process verification, investigations and change management.

Reporting to the Executive Director MST, this role is responsible for managing the International DP MST team and for DP MST activities in Europe and internationally.

Here's What You'll Do


As the Head of the International Drug Product MS&T team, you will be responsible for technical transfer, validation, investigation, and technical support of aseptic manufacturing operations in the EU and internationally.

Collaborate with Moderna International Operations to establish robust and compliant manufacturing performance at drug product CMOs.

Lead the DP International MST team based in Switzerland, Spain, and S. Korea. Mentor and grow the team to be a world class organization.

Lead cross functional teams responsible for technology transfer and validation of drug product processes at international CMOs.

Provide bold technical and organizational leadership for Moderna CH. Provide input into operational metrics, budgeting, and planning.

Lead diverse technical teams. Establish a data and metrics driven culture.

Relentlessly maintain alignment with other global manufacturing sites through shared knowledge, shared manufacturing data, shared manufacturing issues, and common solutions.

Partner with Technical Development to successfully transfer and validate processes at CMOs. Collaborate with Technical Development in investigating and resolving complex manufacturing issues at CMOs.

Manage and coordinate global change ensuring stakeholders alignment.

Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

M.S. or Ph.
D. in a technical discipline related to Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, etc.)

A minimum of 12 years related work experience.

Prior leadership experience in technical support for aseptic manufacturing. Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing requirements for sterile products.

Intellectual curiosity and ability to lead and mentor staff in technical areas outside your area of expertise. Ability to influence cross functionally.

Ability to work hands on in establishing new processes at CMOs and to lead projects and investigations.

Lead matrix teams to solve complex business and technical problems.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

Strong Drug Product technical background in aseptic operations, sterile filtration, visual inspection and packaging and labeling operations

Demonstrated experience implementing new technology for commercial operations

Strong technical problem solving experience
