Marco Grigioni

I am an experienced SAFe Product Owner and Software Development Process Manager with more than 20 years of experience in software engineering and regulated industries, including medical devices, healthcare technology, and aerospace & defense.

I specialize in Agile product development, backlog management, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional team leadership, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality digital products such as mobile applications, web platforms, and embedded software systems. I have led multiple agile teams within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environments and I am experienced in translating product vision, customer needs, and business strategy into actionable product roadmaps, requirements, and user stories. 

Throughout my career, I have worked with international multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with product managers, system architects, developers, and regulatory experts to deliver complex products and improve development processes. I bring a strong engineering background combined with pragmatic problem solving, stakeholder management, and agile leadership.

I hold a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. I am a native Italian speaker, fluent in English, and currently improving my German.

I have over 20 years of professional experience in software engineering, product development, and project leadership, working in international environments across medical devices, healthcare technology, and aerospace & defense industries.

In recent years, I have been working in Agile product organizations, mainly as a SAFe Product Owner, leading cross-functional teams developing mobile applications, web platforms, and embedded software systems. I have been responsible for translating product vision and business requirements into prioritized backlogs, user stories, and product roadmaps, while coordinating closely with product managers, system architects, and stakeholders. I also facilitate PI Planning, backlog refinement, and product increment delivery within the Scaled Agile Framework. 

Currently, I work as Software Development Process Manager for Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) at Dentsply Sirona, where I coordinate design control processes for cloud-based medical applications and support the transition from waterfall to agile development processes in a regulated environment. 

Previously, at Sonova, I worked as SAFe Product Owner, Software Project Leader, and Scrum Master, contributing to the development of mobile and web applications for hearing care solutions used worldwide. In this role, I collaborated with multiple international teams and stakeholders to deliver new product features, improve user experience, and manage releases for large-scale digital products. 

Earlier in my career, I worked as an Electronic System Engineer and Project Manager in the aerospace and defense sector, managing the development and integration of complex embedded electronic subsystems, including radar detection and countermeasure systems integrated into naval platforms. 

Throughout my career, I have developed strong expertise in Agile methodologies, stakeholder management, requirements engineering, quality and regulatory processes, and collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
