As Business Development Manager (BDM) for Buildings as a Grid solutions, you will lead and drive the evaluation and creation of new opportunities for Buildings as a Grid (EVCI, xStorage, EMS) solutions across EMEA with close collaboration of the different commercial teams in the County Sales Organization (CSO and Strategic Account management so that you can design and continuously improve a standardized sales and engineering methodology in order to screen projects, drive commonalities to limit engineering and sales effort for each project and ensure high win rates and sustainable growth.


The BDM will also lead tender process and develop and implement key strategic projects, leveraging internal resources to develop comprehensive solutions, positioning Eaton as the preferred supplier.


The BDM must have expert knowledge of the industry, technology, opportunities, problems, business drivers and competitors for each targeted use case.

He/she is expected to map key decision-makers, develop and sustain relationships with executives within the Buildings as a Grid business partners.

The BDM will be in charge of making all technical information and promotional material needed by our partners and key accounts available.


The BDM sets the strategy for overall business growth with identified partners, and through developed domain expertise, also plays an important role in contributing to Eaton's overall strategy in the vertical segment(s) where the key partners are participating.

Activities include but are not limited to voice of customer feedback and the support/development of complete proposal packages, value proposition creation, alliance development/commercial agreements/pricing and negotiation with key decision-makers necessary to drive growth.


_Job Responsibilities_

Manage opportunities with CSO : The BDM will coordinate and consolidate all CSO activities related to Business Development for Buildings as a Grid via C360. Share best practices on how to grow the business. Understand the complex sales process and help streamline that complexity in collaboration with the BG Sales Manager. Ensure a structured and systematic approach to achieve the growth objective.

Prospect Management: Develop and manage the Business Development activities for prospects in cooperation with our partners and aligned with the business objectives

RFQ / Tender Management: He/she will have an important role in the continuous improvement of the defined tools (used for every step of the opportunity process), together with the field engineering teams in the CSO, so that we benefit from accumulated experience to decrease the cost of treating one opportunity. He/She will have to prepares programs for qualification and develops win strategy.

  • Supports proposal preparation and ensure we maintain customer interface.
  • Officially prioritizes and answers tenders/RFQs with all functions involved
  • Lead and oversee the development of proposals, value propositions, alliances and contract negotiations when needed
  • Portfolio development: Leveraging his/her network and past experiences by partnering with third parties and/or internal divisions to develop complete Buildings as a Grid offers in collaboration with Product Managers and R&D in certain cases. Provide strategic thought and project management on a broad range of topics, including analysis in support of new business initiatives (both organic and M&A related) and crossdivisional initiatives

Qualifications:


_ Qualifications_

Education level required:

  • Bachelor's degree of science in a related field (ideally Electrical Engineering) or similar based on experience. Strong background in the energy management, power electronics and battery industry.

Years and area of experience required:

  • Ideally experience between years combining sales, R&D, program management and international business development.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Commercial/Financial Savy (ideally with an MBA or some finance coursework)
  • Previous major account selling experience required
  • Project management skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Soft skills:

  • Initiative and selfmanagement skills
  • Presentation skills
  • People leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to inspire and coordinate others.
