As the Manager of Aftersales Engineering at GM, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the technical readiness and flawless execution of both internal combustion engines (ICE) and electric vehicles (EV) across Europe.


Hybrid:

This position requires an employee to be onsite 3 times per week.


Key responsibilities will include:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a pan
  • European aftersales readiness strategy that caters to the unique needs of both ICE and EV segments, positioning GM as a leader in technical support.

Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of regional service engineers, empowering them to provide top-notch technical support to our service partners and customers.

Technical Excellence:Oversee the development of technical training programs, procedural guidelines, escalation processes, and root cause analysis procedures, ensuring the highest standards of technical proficiency.

Global Collaboration: Collaborate with key functions within our Europe headquarters and engage with US stakeholders to develop a regionally tailored global approach to aftersales technical readiness, leveraging insights from both markets.

Partnership Development: Establish and nurture partnerships to support highly complex components, such as EV battery recycling and remanufacturing, while also developing internal resources for long-term sustainability.

Operational Efficiency: Support warranty operations and recall management for all GM Europe distributors and repairers, ensuring seamless customer experiences and brand loyalty.

Innovation:Develop a detailed framework for over-the-air updates and identify potential revenue streams, driving innovation in aftersales services.

Performance Management:Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and objective and key results (OKRs) to ensure flawless technical execution and support, driving continuous improvement and excellence.

Technical Tooling: Manage the technical tooling program and implement a leasing strategy for our service partners, optimizing resource utilization and operational efficiency.

Port Operations: Oversee port operations where GM vehicles will require technical and body shop repairs, accessory installation, and software reprogramming, ensuring seamless integration into the market.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in automotive aftersales operations.
  • Strong ability to consolidate and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven track record of translating global and regional trends into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent crossfunctional collaboration skills with a focus on driving results.
  • Technical/engineering experience and/or degree.
  • Familiarity with agile product development practices.

Preferred Skills:


  • Customer focus with a knack for gathering insights and prioritizing features.
  • Strong organizational and learning agility, adapting quickly to changing environments.
  • Technical acumen and prior experience in the automotive industry.
  • Previous experience working with or for an automotive company.
