Laboratory Technician in Biology

60% to 100%:

We are looking for a laboratory technician. This position is available from October 2023 or to be agreed.

The primary objective of this position is to further the research conducted in the laboratory of Ziad Al Nabhani at the Department of Biomedical Research (DBMR) - University of Bern, Switzerland.

Laboratory tasks

Mouse husbandry: Responsible for the maintenance, breeding, genotyping, oral gavage, injections and organization of multiple transgenic mouse colonies
Responsibility for ordering and receiving laboratory consumables conditions
Instructs others in laboratory methods, procedures, and techniques and provides technical guidance and direction as required
Accomplishes daytoday care and housekeeping of laboratory

Requirements:

Completed training as a biology laboratory technician or equivalent
Laboratory Animal Science 1 (LTK1) course and experience in mouse experimentation
Resilience, patience, and precision in repetitive tasks, detailoriented
Ability to work independently
Highly motivated and eager to acquire new skills
Oral and written communication in one national language and English
Previous experience in immunology methods (flow cytometry, ELISA, immunoblot, gene expression, immunofluorescence, microscopy etc) is an advantage
