About the role

  • We are looking for a Cocoa Trader to join our team. As part of the Products Trading desk in Zürich, the role is responsible for the sale of cocoa butter and cocoa liquor to third party customers (on behalf of BCC) as well as for intercompany sales, according to sales budget and available capacities. In addition, the trading desk is also responsible for the purchase of cocoa butter and liquor across different regions. To follow properly the trading book the role will monitor and manage the risks resulting from the sale and purchase of butter and liquor. Further tasks, such as involvement in financial transactions and derivatives fall under scope
    Key Responsibilities include
  • Selling cocoa butter and cocoa liquor to customers: direct contact with 3rd party and internal customers as well as via sales teams.
  • Advising customers and sales teams on markets, prices, strategy, concluding business, and Key account management
  • Buying cocoa products: gather offers and market data from various sources/ suppliers and provide internal customers with competitive prices. Analyze and interpret market information and position the trading strategy accordingly. Provide market information as requested by other team members and other areas of the organization
  • Managing risk positions that come out of those trades.
  • Buying and selling cocoa futures following company, teams and personal views.
  • Buying and selling of currencies
  • Quality & Supply Chain related issues to be solved internally and together with customers and suppliers.
  • Get insight into how product sourcing and all admin. mechanics of it work
  • Monitor the book execution and all physical aspects of the flow.
    About you
  • Bachelors commercial degree
  • Fluent in English. German and/or French is a plus
  • 5 years of experience of trading/ commodities in an International environment
  • Good excel and PowerPoint skills as well as good report writing skills
  • Team player and capable of working crossfunctionally across various stakeholders
  • Previous direct customer exposure and combined with presentation skills
  • Strong

  • Solid understanding of commodities (e.g. cocoa, coffee or other) and international trade
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Able to adapt to a dynamic and changing environment
