The Role:


The Manager of Global Logistics Processes & Projects is a newly created position responsible to run projects and implementation of Logistics and Distribution processes, tools and secondary distribution 3PLs ( 3d party Logistics and Warehousing partners).

He/She must ensure that the logistics set-up is an accurate reflection of the business requirements and in line with regulatory requirements (GDP (Good Distribution Practices)/GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)/Cold Chain/import/export/trade compliance).

In this role, the Manager of Global Logistics Processes & Projects will lead distribution projects to implement new 3PL partners and manage improvement of distribution and logistics processes and tools across the Moderna Supply Chains.


Here's What You'll Do:

Lead Distribution projects to implement new 3PL partners for warehouse and transportation

Act as a business partner on commercial projects and country distribution models (secondary distribution)

Lead projects to implement Digital/IT tools to drive automation of processes and optimize logistics procedures

Drive development of interaction between systems and processes

Develop and harmonize efficient product, material, and samples flow across Moderna's supply chain: Intercompany, Primary and Secondary distribution

Optimize the cost to serve and ensures efficient management of logistics, customs, and distribution related activities


Support technical transfer Distribution and Cold Chain operations at 3PL sites including the handling, storage, and shipping of cold chain products.

Collaborate with multiple business groups with the goal of developing integrated business processes and documented procedures

Support selection (RFPs), qualification and onboarding of new business partners (Freight Forwarders, Customs Brokers, Storage Warehouses, Couriers)

Work closely with key internal stakeholders such as Customer Service, Supply Chain Planning and Materials, Trade Operations and Compliance, Digital, Logistics Engineering, Distribution Quality and Manufacturing Operations, and third parties such a; 3PLs, customs brokers and carriers with the goal of developing integrated business processes

Support technical transfer of Distribution and Cold Chain operations at CMO (Contract Manufacturing Organizations) and 3PL sites including the handling, storage, and shipping of Moderna products

Update and implement GMP/GDP compliance SOPs and Business Process documentation - internally and with 3rd Party Logistics providers

Ensure processes are adherent to Health Authority requirements and guidelines, such as Good Distribution and Storage Practices, based on commercial demands and product portfolio


Implement GDP compliant end to end shipping concepts: handling of goods, shipping validation and customs clearance, etc.

Optimize the cost to serve and ensures efficient management of logistics-related activities


Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:

Education:
Bachelor degree in technology, engineering, or management/business administration


Experience: 5-8 years (BS) in various International Distribution/Logistics functions and Supply Chain


Demonstrated ability to oversee projects end-to-end with stakeholders in multiple time-zones (Defining Scope/actions, communication plans, tracking deliverables, RACIs, timelines, budget, and closing).

Project Management certification (PMP) preferred, not required.

Strong preference towards Pharmaceutical and Biotech experience. Experience working in a cGMP and cGDP environment Good understanding of the Pharma industry & Supply Chain

Ability to write clear and comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures, in English.

Basic understanding of import/export clearance and trade compliance requirements (tariff classification, etc.), customs documentation (e.g., Customs invoice), and role of a customs broker

Understanding of Incoterms

Experience with Cold Chain Transportation and Temperature Monitoring Products is a plus

Working knowledge of GDP and relevant guidelines and regulations

Experience in SAP or related ERP system is required

Experience of logistics software (transport management system, visibility tools)

Experience with managing Quality System events (Change Controls, CAPA's, Deviations, etc)

APICS certification (Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD)) is a plus

Well organized - a natural ability to be organized in how you think, communicate and conduct your work

Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively collaborate and communicate with senior CMC Management in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment - you are outgoing, communicative, and seek to build relationships on a daily basis
