Key responsibilities:

Perform and supervise Extractables & Leachables (EL) laboratory studies (HS-GCMS, GC-MS, LC-UVMS) to support DPS projects, as well as perform services for external customers
Lead and manage lab scientists and interns. Ensure effective use of resources (time, people, equipment and materials). Provide appropriate coaching and performance feedback to direct reports. Ensure effective use of resources, review and approve data, and compile protocols, reports and SOPs
Enable innovation and technical strategy projects, generate intellectual property, as well as evaluate and implement new technologies as required
Closely interact with the other functions across Forensic Chemistry, DPS and the wider Lonza network
Supervise installation, qualification and maintenance of instruments in DPS Forensic Chemistry according to current best practices and regulations

Key requirements:

PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field
Substantial work experience and background in hyphenated analytical methodologies
Good working knowledge in all relevant analytical techniques
Experience in reporting, interpretation and documentation of complex analytical data
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
