framework agreement, from 01/01/2024 to 31/12/2025, with the possibility of an extension for up to 5 years


1. Objective of the assignment


To ensure the continuity of medical services for staff, retirees and Member State delegates in support of the occupational health nurse and during her absence.


2. Deliverables/services
Under the supervision of the WIPO Occupational Nurse, the Nurse will perform the following duties:
(a) Assumes responsibility for the operation of the infirmary; manage the stock (vaccines, medicines, equipment); maintain medical database.

(b) Performs clinical assessment of patients visiting the clinic for primary care; provide care/advice accordingly or facilitate referral to the Medical Adviser or an outside physician.

(c) Responds to emergency calls and assist the physician in providing adequate care.

(d)

Contributes to occupational health examinations; perform diagnostic and screening tests such as:
ECG, laboratory (blood and urine), and other tests, as needed; forward specimens to the laboratory; update vaccinations.

(e)

Ensures the preparation of people who travel on missions or reassignments:
administration of the appropriate vaccine, advice on prophylaxis of malaria and other travel-related diseases, distribution of medical kits.

(f) Track sick leave, ensure receipt of medical certificates and sick leave reports, and relay relevant information to the physician.

(g) Performs other related duties as required.

4. Skills (e.g., area of specialization, knowledge, skills, specific experience)

Essential:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.


Desirable:
At least 5 years of varied experience as a Nurse
Experience in primary health care or emergency care
Experience in occupational health in a United Nations medical service or company
Experience in Mental Health
Fluent in English, French desirable
Knowledge of another official language of the United Nations
Knowledge of travel medicine
Knowledge of basic diagnostic equipment and ability to use it
First aid and resuscitation skills
Technical skills and up to date knowledge in occupational health, communicable diseases, and infection control techniques through continuous training
Absolute respect of medical confidentiality
Knowledge of modern medical information technology and strong computer skills (EarthMed highly desirable)
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain strong partnerships and working relationships in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment, with sensitivity and respect for diversity


5. Duration of contract and payment
Applicants are requested to provide an indication of their remuneration expectations in Swiss francs (daily rate).
