    Presidency of Science and City (10 to 15% annualized) Science and City plays an intermediary role between science and the general public. It is established at the Swiss Academies of Sciences as a competence center for dialogue. Through various activities aimed at children, youth, and adults, Science and City encourages exchanges on topics related to research. It maintains networks in the fields of scientific and citizen sciences and also organizes conferences and continuing education. It consists of a main office located just next to the Bern train station and two branches, one located in Romandy and the other in Switzerland. As the fixed-term presidency of our long-term president is coming to an end, we are looking for a new person for the Presidency of Science and City (10 to 15% annualized) starting September 1 or by agreement. Your tasks include directing the board and managing 3 to 5 meetings a year, piloting and sparring with management: regular meetings and support on themes of Science and City within the steering committee of the Swiss Academies of Sciences: about 7 meetings per year, chairing the Science and Society commission of the Academies: 2 to 3 meetings per year, and maintaining the network: outreach to the public and relevant networks. Your profile includes proven experience in leadership and management, skills and experience in interaction between committees and in the FRI research field, knowledge of scientific issues in the context of current social developments, skills in political and institutional communication, and knowledge in the field of fundraising. You should be German or French with very good knowledge of the other language, as well as a good command of English. Our offer includes a leadership role within an active context and at the steering committee of the Swiss Academies of Sciences, a central player in the FRI field, with a salary of CHF per year (expenses included) for a rate of about 10 to 15%. This rate is distributed unevenly throughout the year and depends notably on the meeting schedule.
