About the role
The mechanical technical lead provides guidance for the mechanical engineers in how to design, test and verify mechatronic systems.

You'll drive the mechanical engineers to ensure that machine components are designed according to the defined guidelines for mechanical engineering.

You're responsible for the definition of the mechanical engineering guidelines, including all mechanical tools, like PLM and SolidWorks. You'll continue to ensure that the processes are up to date. You're also responsible in developing the mechanical engineer's skills and making sure the team is aligned.

Main activities and responsibilities

Develop and align the mechanical engineers. Act as technical coach for mechanical topics to ensure knowledge level is maintained.
Design machines and components considering cost, time, quality levels and technical standards. Ensure correct documentation of products according to internal guidelines.
Responsible for the mechanical engineering tools, PLM and SolidWorks and ensures process are up to date and mechanical engineers adhere to it.
Work closely together with the Software & Electrical teams to build machines for our customers.
Design and implements changes on the existing machine features in order to enhance performance, durability and reliability respecting the constraints of cost, time, quality levels and technical standards.

About you

You are passionate about machine building and manufacturing machines, you need to have a genuine interest in the end result for our customers.

You'll manage the technical skills of the mechanical engineering team. You'll have a structured and methodical approach and be very solutions orientated.

Required skills

Fluent in German and English
Great understanding of mechanical engineering principles
Experience working in SolidWorks
Experience or interested in learning Windchill PLM
Knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging processes
Basic understanding of machine control programming
