As one of the three special communities steering overall agenda and themes relevant to the World Economic Forum, the Family business community is highly influential and relevant to the Forum's mission and agenda.


The Family Business Community (FBC) comprises a select group of leading family business owners and their next generation from all regions of the world and industry sectors.

Community members are committed to driving change and taking a long-term view on generating significant social and economic value.

The community is a trusted space for dialogue and cooperation, offering a platform for members to engage, learn and shape global and regional agendas.

We are now entering a new phase for the FBC aligning the community interests around impact with key initiatives of the World Economic Forum.

We are now seeking an experienced and dynamic Community Lead for the Family Business Community.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global network of family businesses, and to drive engagement and collaboration among them.

Duties and responsibilities


Develop and curate the World Economic Forum's platform for family-owned and family-controlled companies, including engagement of the world's most prominent family businesses leaders in the Family Business Community.

Build and deliver global and regional activities, including a comprehensive agenda for the next generation; research and impact-driven projects; and thematic multistakeholder meetings.


Key areas include:

  • Research, data & analysis:_
  • Conduct research, analyse and curate a list of the Top 100 Family Business, Family Offices and Philanthropists to engage with the Forum.
  • Monitor and analyse community metrics to evaluate engagement, identify opportunities for growth and improvement, and measure success.
  • Community Management & Logistics:_
  • Engage, in collaboration with the business engagement team, new members of leading global family businesses and develop longterm, trusted partnerships, engaging members actively with the community and broader Forum's workstreams.
  • Responsibility for all aspects of community management, including member outreach, communication, and support.
  • Actively identify opportunities to engage those members into the appropriate FBC and Forum activities and events.


  • Programme development:_

  • Develop and deliver a compelling and unique programme of activities to shape the community agenda throughout the year for members of the FBC in collaboration with other key teams.
  • Collaborate with the appropriate members of the Business Engagement Teams and Regional Heads and relevant industry teams within the Forum to ensure a coordinated engagement approach for family owned and controlled companies.


Qualifications and skills- Advanced university degree (MA or equivalent) in business administration, economics or other relevant field and 5-9 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in a family business or philanthropic environment.- Strong understanding and experience supporting networks of individuals or businesses.- Demonstrated experience and skill set to work with industry leaders at the C-suite level as well as with experts in academia and other non-governmental organizations.- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English and French.

Additional languages are an asset.- Energetic, self-directed, customer-oriented and collaborative/positive team player; comfortable with international environments and ready to travel internationally.- Ability to work collaboratively across various teams and structures in delivering the objectives, while remaining entrepreneurial yet, orchestrating and working through others.

Reporting lines and interactions

The Community Lead will report to a senior manager directly under the managing board.

Internally, this person will work with colleagues in the Special Institutional Communities team, Business Engagement team, Global Programming, and Public Engagement teams, as well as Leads for projects and initiatives that constitute the value proposition of the Forum.

Externally, primary interactions will be with a broad range of stakeholders including family business owners, the next generation, and other non-family executives involved in the member companies.
