    Deliverables

  • Output 1: Existing data standards used for EWS categorised, mapped, and documented. Deliverable 1: Mapping report on data standards used for EWS.
    Expected by end of May 2024.
  • Output 2: Criteria and methodology to assess the feasibility and define prerequisites for one joint global information and analysis system for EWS scoped and described. Deliverable 2: Feasibility analysis methodology protocol.
    Expected by end of July 2024.
  • Qualifications, experience, skills and languages

    Educational Qualifications:

    Essential:

  • Minimum first university degree in epidemiology or methodology in health science.
  • Desirable:

  • Alumni from a field epidemiology training programme, or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    Essential:

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the public health sector.
  • Desirable:

  • Experience in environmental and wastewater surveillance for public health.
  • Experience in meeting organization and management.
  • Previous work with WHO or other international organizations.
  • Skills:

  • Analytical skills and capacity to synthesize complex information.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Sound organizational skills.
  • Ability to work self-dependant, results-oriented, and produce timely deliverables.
  • Languages required:

    Essential:

    Expert knowledge of English.

    Location

    Off site: Home-based.

    Travel

    The consultant is expected to travel.

    Remuneration and budget (travel costs are excluded):

    Remuneration:

    Band level B - USD 7,000 - 9,980 per month.

    Living expenses (A living expense is payable to on-site consultants who are internationally recruited):

    N/A

    Expected duration of contract:

    6 months.
