    AI-Driven Pathways to Healthy Soils PhD Position

    • This 3-year PhD fellowship focuses on developing AI tools to support the achievement of healthy soils by 2050 through EU policy implementation.

    The project will investigate how artificial intelligence can accelerate literature reviews, extract best management practices from long-term experiments, and design methods to evaluate soil health.

    We are looking for a motivated researcher with a Master's degree in Environmental or Soil Sciences, AI, Data Science, Geosciences or related fields. Experience with data analysis/modelling and programming is required.

    • Familiarity with geostatistics, digital soil mapping, remote sensing and GIS is advantageous.
    1. You will work closely with the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra Italy as part of an international doctoral programme on soil health and AI based tools.
