    The division Psychology of Digitalisation at the Institute of Psychology, Faculty of Human Sciences of the University of Bern, seeks a Senior Lecturer for Digitalisation of Psychology %; tenured) as of 1st February 2025 (or by agreement). The position is permanent. Applicants are expected to conduct research and teach in one of the division's main areas of interest: 1) Behavior research methods and meta-science, 2) Media use and media effects, 3) IT security and privacy. Further, applicants are expected to significantly contribute to the cross-institutional research and teaching activities in the area of "Humans in digital transformation".

    Senior Lecturer for Digitalisation of Psychology

    Tasks

  • Research in the field of psychology of digitalisation, in particular on one or more of the division's main interests
  • Teaching on topics related to the digital transformation of science and society, as well as advanced research methods
  • Development of an independent, internationally visible research profile
  • Preparation and documentation of data and research material for robust, replicable research
  • Acquisition of competitive research grants
  • Support in the conception and development of the master's focus "Psychology of Digitalisation"
  • Supervision of Bachelor and Master theses
  • Participation in administrative tasks
    Requirements
  • Completed university studies and doctorate in psychology or another behavioral science
  • Didactic aptitude and teaching experience, preferably on aspects of digitalisation in the context of psychological learning theories
  • Evidence of interest and genuine contributions to method development in the field of psychology
  • Expertise in using software and tools for data-intensive research (e.g. R, Github, SQL)
  • Very good knowledge of advanced statistical methods
  • Internationally visible publications of high quality
  • Experience in acquiring competitive research grants
  • Very good knowledge of English
  • Of advantage: Habilitation or qualifications equivalent to a habilitation as well as knowledge and experience in administrative tasks
