    Your role

    • Share your expertise of weather patterns directely with the traders and communicate meteorological insights to specific stakeholders within the organisation
    • Develop, implement and maintain enhanced models to predict weather patterns using machine learning-based weather prediction (MLWP). We will support you if you want to apply this knowledge to trading weather derivatives yourself
    • Monitor and analyse meteorological data from various sources to improve trading decisions and forecast anomalies and their impact on energy prices
    • Benchmark weather forecasting models and collaborate with data scientists to improve them

    Your skills

    • You have a higher education degree
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is required
    • You bring proven expertise in weather forecasting and knowledge about European energy markets
    • Fluency in English is mandatory, additional language skills in German are beneficial
    • Your excellent analytical skills and your proficiency in coding languages such as Python stand out
    • You have experience in data-driven and machine learning-based weather forecasting systems (GraphCast, Pangu, ...) and handling of raw data (grib, Zarr, NetCDF, ...)
    • Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to work under pressure characterizes you
