    The position

We are looking to add an Investment Analyst to the team. The candidate will have the opportunity to join a small, close-knit and high-profile team working with a collegial approach. The new team member will immediately be in direct interaction with the Firm's Partners & Portfolio Managers, offering a unique exposure that cannot be replicated at larger firms. The position will be based in the Firm's Geneva office.

More specifically, the Investment Analyst will work across 3 major areas:

    • Evaluation of new investments within the Japanese portfolio companies: perform in-depth due diligence on potential new investments to be added to the Firm's Long-only and Long/Short portfolios
      • Conduct thorough market and competitive analysis, including leveraging external experts to deep-dive on industry growth drivers and players' positioning
      • Develop detailed fundamental, bottom-up financial models following our proprietary valuation framework
      • Develop and substantiate investment thesis, present findings and recommendations to the Investment Committee, conduct ad hoc follow-ups
    • Monitoring existing positions within the Japanese portfolio companies: provide ongoing coverage for a number of Long and Short positions
      • Follow companies' quarterly results (including competitors'), update financial models and re-assess position risk / reward profile
      • Conduct additional analysis to re-evaluate original investment thesis on an ad-hoc basis
    • ESG
      • Create and complete database of ESG metrics for portfolio companies
      • Conduct deep-dives on specific ESG topics to present to senior team members

    The profile

The position is best suited to Master's degree students from a top-ranked institution who are looking for a first position at an established asset management firm. Fluency in Japanese is a requirement, given the focus on the Japanese market. Ability to easily travel to the US (e.g. US passport) is also a requirement given our large US investor base.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Master's degree from a top-ranked institution, with GPA >3.75 (or equivalent)
    • Fluency in English and Japanese, given the focus on the Japanese market
    • Experience in investment idea generation, supported by qualitative / quantitative research and data analysis, as well as knowledge of financial modelling and valuation topics
    • Expertise in companies' ESG data and performance analysis; interest in ESG topics (e.g. energy transition, renewable energies) a strong plus
    • Superior analytical mindset, with proven ability to think independently
    • Structured approach to problem solving, with the ability to frame complex and ambiguous problems and focus on their most critical components; the position requires the ability to distill from a variety of input the ones that are key to the investment thesis
    • Strong communication skills for presenting insights effectively; given the Firm focus on the US institutional market, previous experience in client facing roles in US is desirable
