About the team you are joining


You willreport to the Chief Economist and will manage team projects in the fields of organization, communication, publications, and IT systems.

The role also involves administrative support for the team with a view to improve the overall efficiency, and the optimization of the dissemination of our research across various channels.

What your day would be like

  • Work to ensure, as directed by the Chief Economist, the administrative side of our department's management, including notably processes, systems, communications, and stakeholder management with respect to delivery of research output. The aim is to build modern efficiency so that the Team can create value that is "greater than the sum of its parts", as well as to ensure longterm business continuity.
  • Drive the development and continual improvement of processes and systems that enable the department to maximize the reach and impact of its finite research capacity in response to the high level of demand for economic analysis across a wide range of issue areas and geographies.
  • Help with the onboarding of office and researchmanagement software, such as Miro and Tableau, with the aim to ensure that the department operates as a cohesive team.
  • More specifically, the role involves managing requests from member airlines, internal and external stakeholders for information, data, charts, and other assistance, maintain the central mailbox for such requests, help distribute the tasks across the team, and maintain a record of all such tasks for reporting purposes as well as for retrievability.
  • Implement and maintain protocols and systems for the management of the department's participation in events, production of ad hoc analyses, as well as the regular publications and outputs of the Team, with a view to maximize the value for airline members and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain and develop the dissemination tools for the department's research, notably the website, intranet, and social media. Work to improve the design (look and feel) of our output and include more video in our communications.
  • Provide project management surrounding larger scale research or system development initiatives, particularly those requiring collaboration with contracted external providers.
  • Organize the Team's office architecture in such a was as to promote and facilitate "selfservice" of our output and act as an interface to wider IATA staff capacitybuilding activities that can foster greater confidence and effectiveness in the autonomous use of Economics analysis.
  • Work with IATA ITS on systems development initiatives relating to automation of analysis production and dissemination.
  • Manage and develop the Strategic Partnership Economic Advisory program in conjunction with the Team. Act as focal point to oversee the department's involvement in consulting projects and contributions to IATA training programs.
We would love to hear from you if

  • A Bachelor's degree, Master's an advantage, in IT, Communications, Economics or related fields.
  • Professional experience in project management or team/personal assistant.
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in standard office software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) in addition to knowledge of working with databases, statistics/econometric software, and programming (Python).
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills;
  • Interested in airline economics;
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills, strong team player;
  • Outstanding written and spoken English, other languages an advantage;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, without sacrificing attention to detail;
  • Highly energetic, professional and motivated individual;
