We are looking for a Head Regulatory Affairs within Legal & Compliance Corporate & Public Affairs who will be responsible for managing the relationship with the regulatory authorities in Switzerland and overseeing the regulatory affairs globally.

    What would your role be?

    • Managing the relationship with the Swiss Financial Markets Supervisory Authority (FINMA) by actively interacting with the regulator, building relationships, drafting communications, reviewing and submitting reports, responding to regulatory requests, and tracking regulatory actions and deadlines
    • Supporting end-to-end regulatory exam management, including meeting scheduling, organization of document productions, responding to regulatory requests for information, and drafting meeting summaries/minutes
    • Working closely with senior stakeholders and the Legal & Compliance team to ensure that regulatory applications, regulatory notifications, actions, routine updates, and regulatory requests are handled in an appropriate and timely manner
    • Overseeing the interactions between the various Vontobel entities overseas with their local regulators through the local Legal & Compliance teams in EMEA, APAC, and the United States
    • Supporting the Head Corporate & Public Affairs and advising senior management on legal and regulatory matters in regards to regulatory affairs, including conducting regulatory scanning, providing timely updates from regulators, and preparing Management and Regulatory Affairs Reports for the General Counsel, internal committees, and the Board
    • Leading and mentoring a team by providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to drive high performance

    What are we looking for?
    • Master degree/postgraduate degree in Law; Swiss bar exam as well as further education (e.g., LL.M.) is advantageous
    • Ideally 5+ years of experience, preferably in a bank or regulatory entity or law/consulting firm focusing on Swiss and international regulatory relations and knowledge of heightened regulatory environment
    • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate even complex, difficult or sensitive information appropriately both in German and English; French or Italian is advantageous
    • Strong team management and high ability to lead and motivate a team for optimum performance
    • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, manage multiple matters with competing and important interests, and adhere to strict deadlines
