The Service unit is responsible for the worldwide after sales support of generator circuit-breaker (GCB) systems and gas insulated switchgears (GIS), including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, added value services, troubleshooting, extensions, retrofits and replacements.

In the challenging position of Installation Project Manager for Switchgear (f/m/d), you will be responsible for the professional and timely execution of installation, commissioning and maintenance work.

You will work on the continuous improvement of processes and activities (CIP), with the aim of always creating a high level of customer satisfaction and an optimal project result for Hitachi Energy.

Your responsibility:


  • In this function you will be responsible for the handling and organizational management and coordination of installation, commissioning and maintenance work
  • You are the contact person for internal and external customers
  • You will supervise assigned field staff, prepare installation schedules taking into account the available and necessary resources (consumables, tools and staff) and monitor and document project progress and costs (reporting)
  • You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and the necessary quality assurance measures, for minimizing project costs and risks, and for the processoriented processing of deviation reports during onsite work, including the initiation of appropriate corrective measures.
  • Your tasks also include the complete compilation, filing and archiving of the documentation (red mark, test protocols and reports) for "as built" preparation and invoicing to the customer.

Your background:


  • Basic technical training and several years of practical experience in the installation and/or commissioning of GIS systems
  • Solid technical knowledge and leadership experience is an advantage
  • Technical school
  • Good written and spoken German and English, other languages an advantage
  • Confident appearance and convincing communication skills, especially when working with different cultures
  • Ability to work in a team and strong organizational skills
  • Assertiveness and leadership with willingness to visit construction sites worldwide
  • Good knowledge of SAP and MS Office
