We are seeking a results-driven, hands-on and strategic VP Finance (m/f/d) to join our executive team within the business unit Körber Pharma Packaging Materials. As part of Körber Pharma, this business unit focuses on the development and production of secondary packaging materials for the pharmaceutical industry. At six locations in Europe and the USA, over 1,000 employees produce folding cartons, package inserts, and labels.

In this role you will be responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of the financial, administration, compliance, legal and tax activities of the business unit, which currently has locations in Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany and US. Together with the management team, you will be involved in M&A projects and the strategic development of the business unit. As the company's commercial conscience, you identify opportunities to increase efficiency and initiates cost savings. Finally, you support the sites in implementing the measures.

Your role in our team 

• Establishment of business unit structure, particularly for the finance department
• Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, shareholder reports, and governmental agency reports via the finance directors in the different locations
• Oversee monthly closing process, and create forecasts predicting future growth and profits
• Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; make or oversee any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets
• Analyze operations to identify areas in need of reorganization and/or optimization
• Analyze customer margins to identify areas for improvements
• Support strategic purchasing functions with data and in negotiations
• Support Körber Group M&A function in M&A projects; lead post-merger integration projects
• Work with the Managing Director and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process
• Act as a key contact point for the Körber Pharma CFO regarding all Körber Pharma entities in the BU Pharma Packaging Materials
• Manage the Finance directors of the different BU locations and work with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations
• Prospective: Take responsibility for the interface between business and One IT organization
• Analyze business case opportunities for expansion and Capex projects
• Lead projects such as software implementation and/or further development of in-house ERP
• Manage compliance and legal aspects for the company
• Review KPI's and initiate action as needed to stay nimble

Your profile 

• A degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
• At least eight years of experience in financial management in global corporations
• Minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing accounting, and knowledge of accrual-based accounting
• Understanding of GAAPs (German GAAP and/or US GAAP, IFRS)
• Knowledge of Work-in-process (WIP) accounting
• Understanding of job costing and/or project-based cost accounting
• Excellent management and supervisory abilities, along with excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
• Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems
