The Role:


Come help Moderna scale This is an exciting new role and opportunity to be a key member of the EMEAC (Europe, Middle East, Australia and Canada) Finance team supporting a dynamic and high growth organization that is radically changing the biotechnology industry.


This role will manage Finance for Switzerland, EMEAC Mid-Size markets and at the same time FP&A activities for EMEAC region.

The role will report to the Head Finance International and is responsible for all financials concerning the assigned Markets and assigned FP&A activities for the Region EMEAC.

This is a highly visible role in our organization.

As part of the EMEAC finance team this role is working closely with the commercial leadership in the region with frequent exposure to global Finance.

Here's What You'll Do:

General

Continue to build robust finance processes in Moderna Switzerland and the Mid-Size Markets

Own the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow of the local units and represent Moderna in Switzerland and in Mid-Size Markets for all aspects of finance including accounting, tax and treasury

Partner and work collaboratively as a trusted financial advisor with the Switzerland and Mid-size market leadership teams

Support the transition from a pandemic to an endemic market for COVID vaccines and new product launches

Support tendering process and the build-up of private market sales channels including conditions with Wholesalers etc.)

Support Head Finance International in all FP&A related activities for the EMEAC Region including the preparation of business cases and commercial proposals


Financial Planning & Analysis:

Business partner to Swiss, Mid-Size Markets leadership teams

Monitor the planning and forecasting process for EMEAC in collaboration with global FP&A

Coordinate the 5-year long-range plan for EMEAC

Pro-actively monitor risk and opportunities and recommend mitigation actions


Present monthly actuals and forecasts to the local leadership teams, the EMEAC (Europe, Middle East, Australia and Canada) Leadership team and global Finance.

Monitor and manage Gross to Net and Pharma fees across all markets in scope


Operational Finance:

Actively support the selection and evaluation of distribution partners and related contracts

Review new contracts and ensure appropriate accounting treatment in collaboration with Group technical accounting

Ensure appropriate accounting treatment in collaboration with Group technical accounting

Ensure timely recognition of revenue and no overdue receivables

Review new commercial contracts and ensure appropriate accounting treatment in collaboration with Group technical accounting


Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
Bachelor's in finance, Accounting or business administration degree, MBA ideally complemented with a recognized accountancy qualification and/or experience in Big 4 public accounting firm or other relevant accounting experience

12+ years' work experience, 7-8 years within an international organization in the Life-Science / Health care industry with significant experience in commercial finance

Understanding of the EU Healthcare Market, Policies and Systems

Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation delivering high quality output to tight deadlines and in a constantly changing and growing business environment

Strong and confident communicator (both written and oral) who can concisely summarize issues

Excellent report writing, presentation and financial modelling skills; outstanding excel skills

Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, extensive experience building integrated models and experience resolving complex business problems with well-structured analytics

High degree of initiative and self-motivation

Strong organizational skills and ability to self-manage to meet expectations.

Strong attention to detail

Strong hands-on experience in the usage of SAP as well as planning and reporting tools

Excellent English skills (both written and oral), fluent in German a strong plus
