The World Economic Forum's Centre for the New Economy and Society (CNES) is the global platform for shaping prosperous, inclusive and equitable economies and societies that create opportunity for all.

The Centre accelerates impact across five interconnected Missions: 1) Economic Growth and Transformation; 2) Work, Wages and Job Creation; 3) Education, Skills and Learning; 4) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; and 5) Global Risks.

The Centre's matrix also includes functional practices for: 1) Action Initiatives, 2) Insight Products, 3) Programming and Communications, 4) Community Engagement. The Centre also hosts the Forum's Knowledge Communities responsible for embedding experts into the Forum's work.


To drive impact across these areas, the Centre engages a community of global leaders across the public and the private sector.

The Centre's business partners comprise 150 leading companies and an extended network of 450 companies.

The Centre engages leaders from more than 30 international and civil society organisations, more than 30 governments through its Country Accelerator model, and a growing network of philanthropic organisations.


We are hiring a Community Engagement Lead for the next phase of the Centre's impact, sharpening its value proposition and expanding its business partners as well as constituents from government, civil society, philanthropic organizations and academia.

This role is an opportunity to expand business development efforts and strategically engage senior leaders in the Centre's impact-focused work.


The Community Engagement Lead will work within the Centre's matrix structure, reporting to its Head of Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships, while working closely with colleagues across the Centre and the Forum.


Main responsibilities- Iteratively refine the value proposition and communication material for the work of the Centre and its sub-units, targeting this material to business, government and other audiences- Develop new engagements and partnerships from business to expand formal business partnership from 150 to 200 partners in 18 months- Develop clear engagement plans for current and new partners, supporting the Centre's missions in achieving engagement and impact- Develop clear engagement plans for governments, international, international organisations and civil society, supporting the Centre's missions in achieving engagement and impact- Engagement of leaders across the Centre's insight, action and event activities, including (but not limited to) flagship publications, global initiatives and coalitions, and the Forum's Jobs Summit, Annual Meeting, and Sustainable Development Impact Meetings.- Manage critical relationships across the Centres partners and constituents, engaging in regular check-ins and producing newsletters and other communications.- Ability to understand the thematic areas covered by the Centre and "translate" the Centre's work into a compelling value proposition that resonates with partners across the public and the private sector- Ability to concretely engage partners from the private and the public sector into the Centre's current and emerging activities, developing and executing on clear engagement plans for business and government constituents- Ability to recruit new partners and expand the portfolio of business, government, civil society and philanthropic partners, in line with the Centre's engagement targets- Ability to convert interest from business, public sector and other constituents into new types of engagement, partnerships, grants or other resourcing support- Constructive collaboration with Centre and Forum colleagues, showcasing a proactive, "can do" and mutual learning attitude- Developing and role-modelling a strong understanding of the Centre's mission and culture within the broader Forum context.

Preferred requirements and experience Exposure to one or more of the socio-economic topics covered by the Centre for the New Economy and Society- A minimum of 8 years' professional work experience, including relationship management and external-facing partnership or business development roles within business, foundations, international organizations or civil society organisations- Experience in developing marketing materials, proposals, and engagement plans- Strong relationship management and development skills- Excellent communication skills and command of English- Mastery of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); experience with Salesforce a plus- Motivated self-starter who enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment- Able to respond appropriately to high-level demands under pressure
