At our R&D site in Dättwil, Switzerland, with 400 employees, mostly engineers, scientists, and physicists we specialize in the development of imaging software and hardware as well as treatment management systems for radiation therapy cancer treatment.

In our Image Reconstruction team, we develop state-of-the-art algorithms and software for CBCT image reconstruction. Varian's treatment delivery systems use our software to reconstruct 3D and 4D images of the patient's anatomy. We aim to further improve 3D and 4D imaging.

As a manager of a team of 6 highly competent scientists and software engineers, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of algorithms in the CBCT image reconstruction domain.

Particular focus will be on enhancing the performance of the algorithms both in terms of execution speed and image quality.

Job Responsibilities:

Inspiring leadership and personnel responsibility for a scientific software development team
Actively expanding and developing the Image Reconstruction group, including the advancement of its strategy
Responsibility for planning, organizing, and controlling projects and internal processes
Driving CBCT image reconstructionbased product development from inception to completion
Effective coordination with other departments and groups
Ensuring the flow of information and communication across all levels and external partners
Continuously improving the development processes, structures, and methods
Documenting design and test specifications of CBCT Reconstruction algorithms

Job Qualifications:

M.Sc. or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Medical Physics or a related technical discipline
Experienced leader with a successful track record of managing engineering teams
Talent for coaching team members
Expertise in the Medtech industry and experience in product introduction, maintenance, and phaseout (Lifecycle Management)
Strong background in image processing and highperformance computing (Image reconstruction experience is a plus)
Knowledge of programming languages (C++, CUDA, Python is a plus)
Strategic and conceptual thinking
Fluent in English, German is plus
