J&J is recruiting for a
Procurement Category Sourcing Manager located in Zug, Switzerland.

J&J's Global Packaging Category is a complex global category supplied by ~800 active suppliers with annual spend ~ >$1.4B USD.


The spend is in four broad clusters: 1) Primary Rigid Packaging 2) Flexible Packaging 3) Paper Packaging 4) Fibers & Nonwovens. The category delivers value through spend performance (reliability, cost, compliance, sustainability, innovation).


The purpose of this position is to manage a portfolio in the EMEA Flexibles & Paper scope for Consumer, with approximate spend of $60 MM.

This position will also be a Global Strategy Owner on key subcategories and Global Relationship Manager of Emerging/Essential suppliers.

Strong engagement with internal stakeholders and robust connection with our key external partners are required to successfully manage these responsibilities.

The Procurement Category Sourcing Manager's scope of responsibilities includes:

  • Translate global sourcing strategies and develop implementation plans for specific sub-categories in EMEA for Consumer portfolio which will effectively meet the long-range requirements of the business and deliver the maximum value for J&J
  • Provide direction on the improvement of material management and supplier complexity
  • Interface directly with supplier leadership to assure alignment of JNJ's objectives are met, including quality, reliability, innovation and cost
  • Understand operational and technical considerations. Identifie business demand requirements and partners with key stakeholders to deliver annual value improvements and to drive competitive advantage
  • Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation and growth commitments
  • Build and maintain relationships throughout JNJ that results in dynamic interactive dialogue on a broad range of perspectives and information, critical for the development of optimal approaches and solutions
  • Develop deep supplier relationships with strategic suppliers including data review and analysis, performance management and development and improvement of end to end value bringing innovation to the business in a continuous basis
  • Systematically and efficiently manage contract creation, approval and compliance to maximize financial and operational performance and minimize risk
  • Escalate issues / inevitable risks that may impact the Global Procurement organization and/or the Supply Chain.

Qualifications:


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Demonstrated skills in Strategic Procurement, Sourcing, Category and Supplier Management, preferably in the Supply Chain Environment
  • Experience having worked frequently / daily with technical, supply chain and other functional partners.
  • Strong business and finance acumen, deep understanding of managing for impact in complex matrix environment
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, partner on & shape projects with / without direct team authority
  • Ability to engage, interact and negotiate value enhancing relationships with suppliers
  • Experience in complex stakeholder environment; rich influencing skills; understands complexities of regulated industries
  • Min. 6 years of relevant professional experience, preferably inside and outside Procurement and in different J&J sectors or industries
  • Relevant degree (e.g. Business, Engineering, Science), preferably complemented by topnotch MBA or other Master's qualification
