The Role:

The Finance Business Partner, EU FP&A is responsible across the entirety of the region.

The Europe region is a $1.6B region within Xylem, managing three segments, Water Infrastructure, Applied Water and Measurement & Control Solutions.

Various finance teams and individuals are responsible for units within the managed region.


Key focus areas include planning the financial reporting cycles, consolidation of EU performance especially for AWS and MCS, business reviews, functional cost and people planning, investments coordination (OPEX/CAPEX), working Capital and productivity.

The Finance Business Partner, EU FP&A is accountable for partnering with the senior global and regional business leaders for each function and will support consolidated reporting, analysis, and planning, and actively collaborates with the Commercial and Operations teams.

You will also be responsible for driving business performance, process efficiency and ensuring strong collaboration with the finance teams (especially FP&A, Operations, Commercial Finance, Accounting & Compliance, and other Business functions & leaders)


Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:


  • Support the planning process of Long-Range Strategic Planning, Annual Operating Plan, Budget and Forecast cycles for EU. Define the overall calendar coordinating the different finance EU teams. Keep tracking of GDP and other initiatives and evaluate the impact at EU level. Collaborate to develop & test ideas that lead to simpler, faster processes with more accurate outcomes.
  • Analyze EU financial information and reports especially for AWS and MCS to provide accurate and timely financial analysis to Senior leaders for strategic decisionmaking purposes and drive actions to improve financial performance.
  • Coordinate and Prepare Monthly and Quarterly internal reports and presentations. Focus analysis on EU performance especially for AWS and MCS on a managed region level, analyzing critically the Internal preMBR and summarize key drivers, risk & opportunities. Anticipate likely questions and key messages and ensure these are addressed in the presentation or premeeting preparation. Be organized in order to meet due dates and support the EU Finance and EU business leaders.
  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly roll forwards, especially for AWS and MCS Europe. Ensure collaboration within EU FP&A team for consolidation of total Europe performance
  • Coordinate Working Capital including overall planning, analysis and support of local finance functions to help deliver Working Capital Targets
  • Prepare presentations for all levels of management and employees and drive effective communication and visual management as requested.
  • Drive performance and monitor progress towards KPI ́s; highlighting and analyzing unexpected variances; proactively identify and mitigate risks; and find and execute opportunities to achieve or exceed business commitments.

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Develop standardized methods and tools in coordination with the EU FP&A team (and other members of the EU Finance team where relevant) to continuously simplify/improve processes and efficiency

  • Fluent in English
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and OneStream skills
