Job Description:


You drive excellence in quality, delivery, and compliance for the supply base and ensure global processes are understood and implemented by the Business Unit network.

Furthermore you provide quality and compliance status updates to the Supply Chain Management, guide and train the SQMs in the respective regions and Supplier Quality and Engineers for sustainable supply performance for the business.

Subsequently to that you take the ultimate accountability and approval authority, and review and assures the quality of the team's operation in accordance with regulations and procedures.


Responsibilities:


  • Define the Supplier Quality structure at Business Unit and regional levels, and ensure adequate staffing, training, and guidance to support the business needs
  • Responsible for the Supplier Quality strategy (35 years roadmap) in line with the business SCM strategy, track the Supplier quality KPIs and implement the actions to achieve the goals defined
  • Ensure the supplier qualification process is fully understood and utilized to certify supplier products by a PPAP process, close performance evaluation, communication, and guidance
  • Ensure supplier assessments including assessment reporting and findings are scheduled, executed, and followed up in line with business line priorities
  • Ensure required supplier development processes are established across the business, understood, and executed to develop and support suppliers to secure ABB requirements. Mentor Supplier Quality and Development Engineers (SQE/SDE).
  • Work with Logistics management as needed to develop standard supply base management and quality training materials for local implementation
  • The role requires close cooperation with responsible Purchasing and Quality Managers in Business lines, SQEs, Category Team Leaders (CTLs) Operational Excellence, Sustainability & Compliance and R&D/Engineering, and Projects
  • Monitor supplier performance (KPIs), quality issues, and development actions for improvements
  • Ensure that SQEs will verify the root cause analysis of supplier issues so that we are protecting ourselves against the reoccurrence of issues
  • Ensure full and appropriate utilization of the tools according to global SCM/Quality procedures
  • Complete special quality projects, as required
Your background

  • Master or Bachelor's in Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the relevant field of the supply chain, quality, and operations
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems in product and project and systembased businesses
  • Solid understanding of typical technical requirements
  • Strong practical experience in supplier improvement and development techniques
  • Has proven experience in driving change by building coalitions
  • Black belt certification
  • Knowledge of PAPP, APQP
  • Excellent communication in English
  • Flexible to travel 25%
