Tasks

In collaboration with the postdoctoral fellow coordinating the project, you will actively review the literature on framing and volunteering, as well as conceptualize, collect and analyze qualitative data
You will conduct your doctoral work within the context of the project
You will collaborate closely with nonprofit organizations supporting refugees in Germanspeaking Switzerland, as well as with a team of internationally renowned scholars
You will assist the team in rendering the project relevant for project partners and beyond
You will contribute to joint conference submissions, research publications and support project coordination (reports, organization of workshops and annual meeting with project partners and collaborating organizations)

Requirements:

You hold a master's degree in organization or management studies (possibly also in a related discipline, such as sociology, communication or political science, pertinent to the research project)
You have a solid command of and interest in qualitative empirical research methods; an experience in media analysis is a plus
You are motivated to collaborate with nonprofit organizations supporting refugees in Switzerland and to explore the media framing of refugees
You have the ability to work independently, meet demanding deadlines, as well as cooperate with diverse project members
You have excellent communication skills (written and oral)
German as mother tongue (or an equivalent level) and very good English skills are a prerequisite
