July 1st or by agreement (for 6 months)

The Sensing and Monitoring Lab (samlab) is embedded into the interdisciplinary environment of the University of Bern, Inselspital Bern, and the Diabetes Center Berne.

By combining expertise from the fields of engineering, medicine, and computer science, the samlab focuses on developing innovative sensing technologies that can enhance the management of diabetes.

Tasks

  • Support the team in conducting the Moonwalk project
  • Create data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources
  • Clean, analyze and visualize data from ongoing studies
  • Develop and evaluate predictive models (e.g., random forests, neural networks)
  • Implement methods for explainability of the predictive models

Requirements:


  • Student in Computer Science, Math, Biomedical Engineering, or in a related field at advanced Bachelor or Master level.
  • Strong expertise in development of algorithms
  • Knowledge of python including relevant data science, neural network, and deep learning libraries
  • Excellent problemsolving, critical thinking and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent English language skills
