    About the role

    :

    To assist the Supervisor – Mine Production to manage and coordinate the safe operation of the mining team to achieve production targets safely and efficiently and implement all designs to the life of the mine plan for the dumps.

    Accountabilities:

    • Effectively leading the safety and performance of a crew of 40 operators.
    • Coordinating daily GCOM meetings to a high standard supporting the mining supervisor.
    • Work with all stakeholders and customers (i.e., dispatch, planning, maintenance, geology) to understand and achieve upcoming targets.
    • Planning, coordinating, and executing the Daily and Weekly Mine Plan.
    • Upholding, practicing, and demonstrating Glencore Fatal Hazard Protocols and Life Saving Behaviours as well as demanding accountability from crew members with these.
    • Thoroughly reporting and investigating incidents in a timely manner and to a high standard.
    • Continually working to improve culture, performance, and attitude within crew.
    • Monitoring crew performance to ensure KPI's/targets are being met. Identifying and managing areas for improvement.
    • Assigning employees to tasks that they are trained and competent for, ensuring the business needs are being met.
    • Providing mentoring and feedback to crew members on a consistent basis.
    • Work with the dispatch team and the mining supervisor for better efficiencies and optimisation of the mining fleet.
    • Work with the mining supervisor to develop and highlight a training plan for crew.
    • Ensure handovers with oncoming supervisors are of a high standards and quality with all necessary information passed on.
    • Own and understand the Voids Management procedure.
    • Inspecting the workplace for hazards and promoting safe work practices.



    Successful applicant will have:

    • S1, S2, S3 supervisors competency
    • First aid certificate
    • Certificate IV Trainer Assessor.
    • Leadership qualities identified in previous performances.
    • A desire to strive for improvement and challenge the "norm".
    • Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
    • Time management skills of a high standard.
    • Ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
    • Competent with public speaking or addressing teams.
