For one of our clients we are currently looking for a Linux System Administrator for a temporary project until the end of the year.

The Scientific Computing group in Crop Protection Research is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Linux System Administrator.

Role Purpose:

Support the local computing infrastructure
Install, test, debug, and manage scientific research software
Support the users and resolve technical issues with the usage of software

Required skills:

Red Hat Certified System Administrator or equivalent certification and/or equivalent experience as a Linux System Administrator
Proficiency in software installation, including package managers (rpm/yum/dnf, dpkg, pip), environment managers (conda, environment modules), and builders (make, cmake)
Experience with HPC job schedulers (e.g., SLURM, SGE, LSF, Torque)
Solid knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)
Autonomy and problemsolving skills
Excellent communication skills

Desired skills:

Experience with software configuration management and deployment (e.g., Ansible)
Knowledge of programming and software development on modern objectoriented languages (e.g., Python)
