Energy & Performance Services (EPS) is the organization within the Business Unit "Regional Solutions and Services (RSS)" that strives to create scalable and speedy impact by providing sustainability, energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and distributed energy solutions to global and local customers.

RSS is part of Siemens's Business "Smart Infrastructure (SI)" and a global powerhouse in performance services and solutions that will reinvent buildings and infrastructure with our motivated employees by walking with our customers on their digital journey to improve building and connected asset performance while lowering carbon footprint.


Role Description:


As Head of EPS's Global Operations team (EPS GO) you are providing governance, policies and guidance on operational and bid management topics concerning EPS business.

You head the Project Management (PM) community.

EPS GO is the home of any PM processes, functions, and tools shared across countries and regions and employed during development as well as the implementation phase of a project or service.

Together with your team you cover expertise on a wide range of execution and bid management related topics and you are the quality gate for any regional projects exceeding a certain threshold volume or featuring certain characteristics making it more challenging for the organization.

This is a management position with functional and line management responsibilities.


Key responsibilities:


  • Development of processes and standards supporting EPS's goals, including liaison / collaborating with other departments (sales, engineering, commercial, procurement, regions, countries, etc.)
  • Development, integration, and promotion of tools supporting such processes and standards
  • Technical and Commercial Risk Reviews and approvals with regional organizations
  • Coapproval of projects before development and implementation
  • Bid Management for global programs (liaison with global, country sales and legal; development of "EPS bid package", etc.)
  • Heading PM community and foster best practice sharing across borders
  • Explore opportunities for providing PMs and PM functions with the necessary training and platform for professional development
  • Enterprise and program/portfolio scheduling, development of scheduling and resource management guidelines, guidance & training on project scheduling
  • Provision of advice on subcontracting terms and execution models
  • Contract and claim management, liaison with legal on contracts, claims, and disputes
  • Liaise and collaborate with countries and regions on EHS standards and initiatives
  • Program Execution Management
  • Quality Control / Quality Assurance

What you bring along:


  • A Master's Degree in Engineering provides you with a good grasp of our technical topics
  • 10 years plus of experience in a similar role
  • Project Management skills include: Project schedule, critical path management including management of interdependencies of critical external partners (customer, consultant, critical subs). This also includes an overview of accounting and financial operations
  • Quality Management expertise with approval and certification capabilities
  • EHS knowhow is also highly welcome in this role, as you need to have an understanding of the underlying processes
  • Able to work in a challenging environment and be capable of thinking analytical, be structured, and be able to lead, empower, and guide direct reports
  • Experience with working in international environments
  • Due to the distributed teams and regional focus of the business, not only excellent communication and leadership skills for leading team members in different office locations are paramount but even more so the ability to excel in fostering collaboration and promoting the processes and tools identified to benefit EPS as a whole
  • Full professional proficiency in English. German or any additional European language is a benefit

Location:
This position can be located in one of our major Siemens Smart Infrastructure locations. Prerequisite is in any case your legal eligibility to work in the respective country.
