Last Updated - 31/07/2023*** The Freight Operator works on all aspects of Iron Ore freight trading from basic transportation and logistics concepts to trading strategies. The employee will work closely with traders, team colleagues in the department as well as with people in other departments and field offices.
The main tasks and responsibilities include - Managing and coordinating day to day operations of allocated vessels
- Providing technical and logístical support to trading for shipping matters
- Preparing and checking Letters of Indemnity, reviewing charterparty clauses and agreements
- Arranging hire payments and freight invoices
- Arranging bunker supplies for the vessels
- Monitoring profit and loss for all the vessels/cargoes
- Other duties and responsibilities as the Company may see fit
- Has the ability to integrate into and to work well in a multicultural team and fastpaced environment
- Has an independent, flexible and entrepreneurial work attitude and high motivation to solve problems
- Is selfmotivated and willing to take over responsibilities
Qualifications and requirements
- At least 3 years of shipping experience, preferably in time charter operations
- Familiarity of IMOS vessel operating system
- Proficiency in English (both verbal and written), any further language is an asset
- Holding a Swiss work permit or passport holder of CH / EU
