UNICEF PFP is seeking a qualified individual consultant to develop a Power BI dashboard that will facilitate enhanced data-driven decision-making, and monitoring.

The purpose of this assignment is to build a user-friendly and visually appealing data dashboard using Power BI that integrates diverse data sources and indicators at division level, allowing UNICEF colleagues and other stakeholders to monitor key indicators, and identify trends and patterns.

By investing in this consultant, UNICEF PFP aims to enhance data-driven decision-making, improve effectiveness, and strengthen accountability and monitoring across the division, support diversity, equity, and inclusion, ultimately leading to better experience for employees and outcomes for children.

How can you make a difference?

Scope of Work:

Understanding Requirements and Current Tools:

Collaborate closely with the team to comprehend project scope, objectives, and timelines.
Gain access to and familiarize with existing Power BI workspaces, HR SharePoint, VISION for HR reports, and TMS reporting tools.
Outline steps for project execution, specifying any additional requirements.

Data Modeling and Integration:

Integrate diverse data sets from UNICEF's data warehouse and other relevant sources into Power BI.
Explore possibilities with ICTD for enhancing data accessibility and integration, with a focus on utilizing Fabric, data warehousing, or enhancements in Power BI reports.

Dashboard Development:

Design and develop a userfriendly, visually appealing data dashboard in Power BI.
Ensure alignment with UNICEF's data standards and visual identity.

Testing and Optimization:

Conduct beta testing, incorporating feedback to refine and optimize the dashboard.
Maintain a focus on data accuracy, quality control, and user experience.

Deliverables:

Deliverable 1:

Initial Review (1 Month):

Comprehensive plan outlining project scope, timelines, and stakeholder requirements.
Detailed assessment of available data sources and access requirements.

Deliverable 2:
Data Collection and Preparation (2.

5 Months):

Identification and setup of data channels.
Data cleaning and preparation for dashboard integration.

Deliverable 3:

Dashboard Mock-up (1 Month):

Creation of dashboard prototypes, including layout, data visualizations, and design elements.
Alignment with existing UNICEF dashboard styles for consistency.

Deliverable 4:

Data Model and Dashboard Development (4 Months):

Development of the data model and initial dashboard pages.
Integration of diverse data sources and visualization design.

Deliverable 5:
Beta Testing and Finalization (1.

5 Months):

Release of the dashboard for beta testing and iterative improvements.
Final optimization and public release of the dashboard.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have

Education:

An advanced university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

Alternatively, a first level university degree combined with additional qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing data dashboards and visualizations using PowerBI is required.
Proven track record of successfully delivering PowerBI projects.
Experience in designing and implementing userfriendly and intuitive navigation structures for data dashboards is required.
Previous experience working with UN agencies or international organizations would be an advantage.

Knowledge and skills:

Strong understanding of data analysis, data modeling, and data integration techniques.
Proficient in working with complex datasets from multiple sources and performing data cleansing and validation.
Knowledge of SharePoint is an asset.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.

Language:

Fluency in English is required.
