Postdoctoral Researcher Project "Psychological Mechanisms of Meat Reduction"
We are currently conducting three studies involving psychological mechanisms of meat reduction. The first is a cross-cultural study on attitudes about farmed animal welfare. The second is a short-term multimethod longitudinal study of couples who eat different amounts of animal products. The third is a long-term longitudinal study of meat reduction with an randomized controlled trial intervention design.

Data have already been collected for the first two studies whereas data collection for the third study will begin in Fall, 2023.


The primary goal of this postdoctoral position will be to use data from these and possibly other studies to examine mechanisms of meat reduction.

In addition, the postdoctoral researcher will be involved in conducting the longitudinal study (data-collection and analyses).

The position includes some teaching (2 hr weekly seminar per semester, assisting in supervising bachelors and masters theses in English or German).


Your responsibilities:


  • Developing and conducting a project in the area described above in very close collaboration with the professors
  • Conceptualizing and conducting field studies and/or lab experiments related to the project
  • Analyzing data
  • Writing and publishing highimpact manuscripts in disciplinary and interdisciplinary international, peerreviewed journals
  • Presenting research related to this project at national and international conferences
  • Teaching one seminar (2 hrs/week) per semester; supervision of bachelor and master theses

Your profile:


  • Ph.
D. in psychology

  • Strong intrest in research
  • Social competencies, ability to work in a team
  • Excellent writing skills for scientific publications
  • Strong quantitative background; interest in advanced statistics
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficieny in English (German language skills are an asset but not required).
