    About the Role

    Do you want to play an active part in managing the relationship with our group-wide supervisor FINMA as well as assessing and mitigating the key regulatory risks affecting Swiss Re? As Senior Regulatory Risk Manager, you will be shaping the relationship with FINMA, Swiss Re's lead group supervisor as well as support Swiss Re in analysing Swiss and international regulatory developments affecting Swiss Re's business. You will support and/or represent Swiss Re's interests towards regulatory expert groups and industry associations. You will also be required to communicate with a number of key functions within Swiss Re including senior management.

    Your main tasks will include:

    • Act as Co-Relationship Manager for FINMA and assume responsibility for selected supervisory requests and regulatory reporting.
    • Identify, assess and monitor key regulatory risks and regulatory developments in Switzerland and at the international level. Help Swiss Re understand the impacts and prepare for upcoming regulatory requirements.
    • Lead the preparation of assigned regulatory interactions such as FINMA Supervisory College meetings, FINMA on-site inspections, regular senior level meetings, ad-hoc exchanges, etc.
    • Participate in specific industry events and meetings (e.g. Swiss Insurance Association, IAIS stakeholder events) as appropriate
    • Lead and coordinate data calls, field testing, or consultations
    • Support the preparation of briefing material and presentations for members of Swiss Re's Executive Committee and/or Board of Directors
    • Contribute and coordinate internal reports and presentation (e.g. risk updates and reports, Investor Relations Q&A, etc.)
    • Maintain close contact and cooperation with key internal stakeholder teams in the Business Units, Finance, Legal & Compliance, Risk Management and other internal parties
    • Coordinate ad-hoc interdisciplinary teams related to projects, transactions and situations which require regulatory involvement.

    About the Team

    At Swiss Re, Regulatory Risk Management is responsible for assessing and mitigating the risks arising from changes to existing or new insurance regulation and insurance supervisory regimes that might affect our interest across all business and risks arising from interactions with regulatory authorities. We play an important role as an early warning and risk mitigation function. We also carefully manage relationships with supervisors and regulators.

    About You

    • Proven track record in the (re)insurance or financial services industry with touch points in Supervision, Regulatory/Governmental Affairs, Risk Management, Legal or Treasury/Capital Management.
    • A master's degree in law, Actuarial Sciences, Natural Science, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Political Science or another relevant field.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in dealing with external stakeholders and top level management.
    • Strong team player, willingness to share knowledge and information and who naturally brings individuals together as needed, across countries and functions
    • Excellent analytical skills, an interest to understand the mechanics/foundations of (re)insurance and the pre-requisites needed for it to be able to fulfil its role to society, an affinity for topics such as prudential regulation, market access, digitalisation, market conduct, sustainability, and capital markets.
    • Strong organisational and process management skills
    • Ability to summarise complex issues into concise memos/presentations
    • Ability to present and communicate well orally and in writing both in German and English
