Workshop Technician - Upholstery Shop

Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the Upholstery Shop team in order to meet their objectives, in accordance with the applicable Jet Aviation Basel procedures, Aviation Regulations and high customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repairs on aircraft soft materials (seats, divan by following internal procedures without supervision
• Strip, clean and recover soft goods as headliner, window panel, decorative panel without supervision
• Cutting, sewing, and installing seat covers, foam build up and various assemblies without supervision
• Able to cut, adjust and fit a carpet for installation in cabin without supervision
• Report work status, non-conformities, damages, and other issues as may be defined to the responsible team leader
• Working as a part of a team under the advice of the superior

Minimum Requirements

• Upholsterer apprenticeship completed with appropriate educational qualification
• At least 3 years of experience as Upholsterer in seat business
• Familiar with different kind of material (leather, fabric, silk, Ultraleather, etc.)
• Able to work both, independently as well as part of a team
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings
• knowledge of aircraft maintenance is beneficial
• Good knowledge in MS-Office, knowledge in SAP is beneficial
• Fluent in English, German and/or French is a plus
