Job Overview


As Regional Director in Customer Solutions, you will act at the interface of technical and commercial topics, thereby driving innovation and growth.

You will be a key driver in successful intake and execution of complex, customized, or bespoke opportunities. By generating deep learnings through customer-facing activities, you are responsible for ensuring long-term competitiveness of SHL's products and services.


Main Responsibilities**-
Offering development: Identify emerging user, customer, manufacturing, and other stakeholder needs to support the development and optimization of our portfolio strategy. Take the responsibility for co-initiating new products and services and supporting the development and execution of product strategies along a cross-functional process. Provide customer insights and technical expertise on strategic topics (e.g., sustainability) relevant to develop and deliver the right products and services.

Project and customer management: Take the responsibility for complex, customized, and bespoke device projects, driving project initiation and advancement. Guide the customer and ensure that all factors are considered by deeply understanding the local market and proactively managing customer expectations. Secure the correct prioritization of leads based on fit with SHL's current product offering and bespoke device development capabilities.

Functional integration: Collaborate closely with commercial teams (e.g., Portfolio Strategy, Intelligence & Insights, Business Development, Account Management) as well as technical teams (e.g., Product Development, Product Management). By integrating insights and requirements of different functions, ensure client satisfaction and project success.


Skills and Qualification

Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, preferably engineering or a similar field.

Work and industry experience: 10+ years of experience in technically driven roles in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry. Experience in vendor-interfacing roles in a pharmaceutical company is considered an advantage.

Technical knowledge: Deep understanding of the technical aspects involved in the design, development, and manufacturing of medical devices. Ability to integrate this technical knowledge in a cross-functional development process.

Commercial mindset: Experience in customer-facing roles and demonstrated business acumen. Ability to take a commercial perspective and thinking in terms of generating customer value, business profitability, and growth.

Project management: Proven ability to initiate and drive highly complex, global, strategic, and cross-functional projects in international matrix organizations. Ability to deal with and manage uncertainty.

Stakeholder management: Strong interpersonal skills and able to work across multiple functions and levels in the organization to ensure success in a large and international team environment.

Communication and presentation: Emphasis on clear and concise communication, as well as easy-to-understand and persuasive presentation to internal as well as external stakeholders. Active listener, building trusted relationships with customers and colleagues alike.

Driven mindset: Motivated to drive this newly established role and flexible to work with an evolving scope of responsibility.

Language: Fluent in written and spoken English. German and Chinese are considered an advantage.
