Job Description Summary:

The Senior Production Sales and Inventory Demand Manager is part of the Refurbish (PSI) team in the organization covering Thermal Services scope.

This is a key function responsible for the Demand side of the PSI planning process that covers from forecasting of future Refurbishment Demand (unconstrained by operational factors such as capacity limits) to be meshed against current and targeted inventory levels (depleting excesses, accumulating for peak periods) to determine a desired level of repaired assets (Supply).


The Senior Production Sales and Inventory Demand Manager plays a pivotal role in working intensively in the organization, to represent team across Supply Chain, the Commercial organizations in the Regions, Finance, Product Management, Operations and Repair Shops.

In collaboration with the Product Line, this position will map capability gaps, and will work on the required business cases to support capital allocation decisions

Responsibilities of the role

  • Understand and develop demand forecasting utilizing business tools of outage forecasting and parts lifing
  • Allocation of material based on outage prioritization
  • Understanding of power market including market penetration, technology age and replacement periods
  • Understanding current inventory available for refurbishment and optimal usage of that hardware to achieve calculated level of repaired assets
  • Develop forecasting to cover multiple demand streams including repair fallout, contractual parts injection and Transactional Sales
  • Bringing your knowledge of the commercial cycle is therefore critical. You will have extensive exposure to the senior leadership of our business and thus the ability to work at the executive level is critical.
  • Work cross functionally to understand buyback opportunities and manage the return of used hardware to determine usability of hardware in current fleet.
  • Develop buyback/return strategies to support refurbishment growth while balancing inventory levels
Qualifications/Requirements

  • Major experience in inventory management and operations
  • Significant experience in Gas Turbine technology, preferable with the Alstom OEM
  • Significant experience working in a crossfunctional environment globally
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Marketing or Finance or other business related field
  • Strong project management skills
  • Significant experience in working in global teams
  • Fluent written and oral English

  • Deep financial & data analysis and financial planning skills
  • Strong understanding of the Commercial and Supply Chain processes
  • Proficiency on Demantra/Nex
  • Knowledge of ERP (Oracle/Pmax)
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and set priorities in a crossfunctional team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions with incomplete and ambiguous information
  • CAP (Change Acceleration Process) / Process improvement experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a matrix organization
  • Demonstrated success leading and implementing system changes & simplification
