General Description:


This position may be located anywhere in Europe and within reasonable business travel distance to BeiGene's offices in Basel, Switzerland (anticipated quarterly travel).

The Associate Director, Global Brand Protection works in conjunction with the Director of Global Brand Protection, the Head of Global Physical Security and others to assist in building and executing a Best-in-Class product integrity program at BeiGene.

The Associate Director will assess Company needs in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and develop strategies and plans to mitigate risks to brands, business objectives and patients resulting from the counterfeiting, diversion and theft of BeiGene medicines.

This position is responsible for building partnerships across various BeiGene business functions, including Workplace Services, Commercial, Legal, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, HR, IT, and other key stakeholders and will work in conjunction with Supply Chain partners to identify current and anticipated product integrity risks worldwide.


Essential Functions of the job:

Global Brand Protection:
(90%)

  • Investigations
  • Monitor the illegitimate pharmaceutical supply chain to identify and prevent illicit activity. Investigate allegations of counterfeiting, diversion, theft, and resultant IP violations from intake through disposition, coordinating with internal stakeholders in QA, Legal and other departments to address related losses. Pursue enforcement opportunities in coordination with the Global Security Team, Legal, Quality, external law enforcement, others.


  • Mitigation/Prevention

  • Work crossfunctionally with BeiGene stakeholders to implement anticounterfeiting and antidiversion techniques/programs, brand protection risk assessment processes, investigative case management policies, anticounterfeiting technology assessments, online risk monitoring and suspect product analysis.


  • Training

  • Internal and external training development and execution relating to dangers of illegal products in market to patients, supply chain and brands. Active Participation in Brand Protection industry organizations (e.g., QBPC, PSI, IACC, others).
  • Assist in identifying and protecting commercial and clinical conveyances in the EMEA region, ensure reporting and thorough investigation/case management of all incidents of theft, attempted theft, delivery tampering, and other incidents associated with delivery of BeiGene products. Participation in Cargo Security industry organizations (e.g., PCSC, TAPA, others as needed.
  • Conduct risk assessments of supply lanes, carriers, 3rd party service providers and suppliers in support of government program compliance, audit of contractual considerations and process improvement as needed in support of DEFEND team goals.
  • Create and maintain strong positive relationships with key internal partners, including executive leadership, functional business areas, and site leadership. Be on call to respond to companyrelated security incidents and to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.

People Management:

  • Creates and implements training and development plans crossfunctionally via Brand Protection Working Group and other group projects.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or higher required, Fluency in English required. Fluency in other languages preferred.
  • 8+ years of business experience working in pharmaceutical/life sciences or like industries required, preferably within Security, Legal, Supply Chain, Logistics, QA or related functions.
  • Direct experience working in or directly with Corporate Security departments/functions required.
  • Experience in managing brand protection matters within and outside of the legitimate supply chain, from initial intake through enforcement action required. Experience in addressing nonproduct related global security matters preferred.
  • Experience working with Legal/IP and other departments pursuant to addressing IP, patient/consumer health concerns preferred.
  • Law enforcement experience in region a plus

The ability to give well-articulated presentations to all levels of BeiGene employees and remain calm and provide guidance in a crisis.


  • Travel: 20% domestic and international.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience

Computer Skills:

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel required.

Qualifications:


  • Fluency in both verbal and written English; competency in any other major language would be a benefit.

Travel:
+/- 30% global travel (as required)
