  • 19/03/2024***We are looking for an experienced and motivated Audit and Assurance Manager (or Directorequivalent) with specialisation in the Energy trading sector or Financial Services to join our Group Internal Audit and Assurance (GIAA) function. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Marketing Assurance and managing a growing team of senior auditors, and you will be based either in Baar, Switzerland or London, UK.


Role Duties:


  • Manage the Marketing assurance (e.g. commodities trading, financing and logistics) coverage strategy for Glencore's extensive global Oil and Gas and Coal businesses
  • Understand the strategic and operational business activities in relation to commodities trading, hedging, trade finance, logistics (including shipping, warehousing and inventory), compliance and investments.
  • Identify the key risks and controls fronttoback, develop the audit plan and supervise audit engagements, including overseeing the preparation of audit reports and communicating results to management.
  • Manage internal administrative activities for aligned team members and provide coaching, constructive feedback and development opportunities to contribute towards a highperforming team of auditors.
  • Develop strong relationships across the global Energy business and actively engage with stakeholders to identify relevant trends, emerging risks, and help drive insights and positive change.
  • Undertake relevant departmental initiatives and ad hoc business projects/ investigations as may be required.
  • Experience auditing Financial Risks (i.e. market, credit, valuation/model and liquidity) and Market Conduct is an advantage.

    Desired qualifications, skills and experience:
  • University degree (required) in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field
  • Accounting or audit certification (e.g. ACA, CPA, CIA, CISA, CA) is expected
  • Certifications such as CFA and FRM are an advantage
  • At least 10 years' experience in internal or external audit, including coverage of the commodity trading industry (particularly the energy sector) or Investment Banking commodities businesses
  • Comprehensive understanding of risks and control assessments and familiarity with regard to the extractive industry e.g. supply chain logistics, trading, risk management, compliance, insurance and customs/tax.
  • Has advanced English verbal and written communication skills; additional languages are a benefit.
  • Has strong ability to identify and clearly articulate risks, controls, root causes and improvement opportunities.
  • Is operationally excellent and able to organise, produce high quality work within agreed deadlines.
  • Is motivated to operate as part of a global team and travel up to 20% worldwide.
  • Has Analytical skills and critical thinking in order to collaborate with our Data Analytics function to the latest digital technology and data analytics techniques to enhance our auditing capability.
  • Holds People leadership capabilities and opera team player.
  • Holds a UK or Swiss work permit.
