The Center for Nature and Climate is seeking a Lead to create and drive the business engagement strategy that addresses the nexus of food and water.

The role will develop new and ongoing partnerships and initiatives to catalyse and support industry transition towards more sustainable, resilient, and healthy food and water systems.

This includes managing a cross-industry CEOs community for the food and water agenda at the Forum, reporting to the Head of Food and Water.

This role will be responsible for leading and shaping the CEOs Alliance on Food, Water, and Health, and manage a new programme focused on harnessing purchasing power to catalyse net zero, nature positive transition pathways.

The integration of food systems and water action offers a major opportunity to develop opportunities in the nexus of agri-food and water solutions from a finance, technology, and partnerships approach.

The food and water agenda works on shaping the future of production, value-chains and consumption across three strategic tracks:

Finance Regenerative and adaptive food and water, Technology and Innovation ecosystems, Public Private Partnerships to support country pathways.


The CEO Alliance on Food, Water and Health serves as a cross-industry and multiplatform community linking the core strengths of these interlinked topics to bring more scale and impact to transitions towards sustainable, healthy, circular, and resilient people and planet.

It includes 35 CEOs committed to collaborating to transform agri-food-water systems to achieve net-zero, nature and water positive outcomes, improving healthier diets and food security, and building more inclusive and resilient economies.


The First Movers Coalition leverages collective purchasing power from companies to send a clear demand signal to scale up critical emerging technologies essential for the net-zero transition.

The Forum together with its partners, propose a demand-driven focus on the hard-to abate commodities within the agri-food system to unleash significant momentum and de-risk agri-food outputs to make purchasing commitments feasible for a wide-ranging set of public and private investment.

This CEO-level group would provide coordinated leadership action on aggregating demand signals towards supply-side momentum for fit for purpose food systems that deliver climate action, including with an initial focus on sustainable cattle, low-emissions rice, amongst others.

Reporting lines and interactions


The role will be based in Geneva in CNC, reporting to the Head of Food and Water, who is based in the Forum's New York office.

Internally, this person will work with colleagues in the broader CNC, as well as a wide range of other teams and colleagues in the Forum.

Externally, this person will engage Forum partner companies, potential Forum partners, and other stakeholders including governments, international organizations, civil society, and experts in food and water.


  • Programme Management of the First Movers Coalition, Hardtoabate Agri-Food Commodities_
  • Support the design and development of FMC pillar on HardtoAbate agricommodities on lowemissions rice in Asia and sustainable cattle in Brazil, amongst others, mobilizing and managing process with key stakeholders, coordinate across project teams,, external stakeholders and partner network to define a sectoral roadmap for transition to netzero, naturepositive agrifood systems.
  • Coordinate with FMC country partners a launch announcement at COP28 in UAE, during a Paris moment for Food, followingup with a series of regional and country workshops to identify key opportunities bringing together supplyside profile on climatesmart investments and procurement and demand opportunities, to be profiled and shared through key Forum leadership milestones.
  • Explore pipeline of business and multistakeholder partners and innovative solutions to further compliment the impact of the project.
  • Lead the Business Engagement Strategy_
  • Create and drive business engagement strategy that addresses the nexus between food, water and health, including in the Agri-Food, Consumer-Retail, Industrial Water, Finance and other relevant industries.
  • Manage community of CEOs Alliance Food, Water, and Health, a crossindustry CEO community setting ambition and shaping a marketsled agenda towards more sustainable, resilient, and healthy food and water systems, supporting cochairs and strengthening of crossindustry community setting ambition for business leadership across nexus of food and water with health,
  • Manage and strengthen strategic relationships with cochairs and members of the Alliance to support the strategy delivery, build out, and continued interest and engagement in the Forum's food and water agenda, building on existing initiatives, and new programmes.
